Knowledge and information is needed to be able to act on behalf of the Christian minorities being persecuted in Iraq and Syria. As part of my commitment to the issue I have inviting my MEP-colleges and key persons in the EU-administration to a breakfast meeting tomorrow. I am very happy to welcome Mr. Kino as keynote speaker. He is the founder of the global movement “A Demand For Action,” to combat the extreme current-day persecution of religious minorities in the Middle East.
Nuri Kino, is a Swedish Assyrian freelance journalist, and documentary filmmaker. He received the European Parliament’s Journalism Prize 2011. He became a journalist in earnest by accident in 1999 when he was in Istanbul at the time of the great earthquake there. Since then, he has worked for newspapers, magazines, radio and TV in several countries. He has been investigating espionage, war crimes, terrorism and also infiltrated a pedophile network. He has authored several books including, ”The Line in the Sand.” As an expert on minorities in the Middle East, he has been taking part in a hearing in the U.S. Congress as well speaking in the European Parliament. As part of his effort for a Safe Haven in Iraq, he recently met with members of President Obamas staff in the White House.

Recommended reading is Nuri Kino´s latest article in SabotageTimes where he talks to the IS Commander ”Abu Adil”, who now is more aggressive than ever. He demands that US and others that airstrike against IS meet them eye to eye on the ground instead of conducting airstrikes. The article is a chilling reflection of the warped mindset of someone fighting for IS: http://sabotagetimes.com/politics/conversation-isis-allah-knows-much-time/
